Thermally-Efficient Homeshield Double-Glazing Perth

At Homeshield, we work hard to ensure our windows are thermally efficient. Not only do our windows look great, they do great, too, helping you save on heating bills.

Warm Edge Spacer

A warm edge spacer is designed to reduce the thermal bridge from outside your home to inside, preventing the temperature from escaping at the glass edge.

Weather Seals

The Q-Lon seals we use offer even more protection from the outside elements as they seal our windows against the weather.

Multi-Chamber Frames

Multi-chamber constructed frames are premium quality because the sealed air between their construction insulates against both hot and cold weather, protecting your home year-round.

Pilkington Glass

Homeshield’s double-glazing windows use Pilkington glass, the industry leader in thermal efficiency, security, and protection against the elements.

Double-Glazing Perth FAQs

Here are answers to some of our most frequently asked questions…

Double glazing is a type of window setup that allows for two panes of glass within a single frame, separated by a gap filled with a gas that has high insulation ability. This slows the movement of heat from inside the house to the outside, as well as noise coming in from the outside.

Double glazing can be installed within a range of different types of windows, including casement windows, sash windows, tilt and turn windows, and other specialist windows.

Due to the technology placed within double-glazed windows, there are a lot of ways in which things can eventually fail or go wrong, aside from the usual chips and cracks. Here are a couple of ways you can gauge the performance and status of your double-glazed windows and doors.

One thing to watch out for is condensation. Whilst condensation on the outside surfaces of the window can be hard to avoid, there shouldn’t be any at all between the panes. If you notice that condensation has begun to drip inside the window, then that is a sign that the insulation protection has failed. There are a couple of reasons this could be, but usually, it’s the failure of the seals on the edges of the window. When they fail, moisture can enter the space between the window panes and this can affect the energy efficiency of your home.

Another way to tell if your windows need a repair is if you feel a draught. This is a sign of the window’s failure to close properly, or much like the last option, the seal has failed – although to a much larger extent. Identifying the source of the problem should be done through an inspection of both areas.

The fact of the matter is, that the UK has been hit with price hikes across the board, but nowhere is this more recognisable than in the energy crisis. Many homeowners in lower income brackets have found themselves having to choose between the comfort of their own homes or being financially strained.

With our range of windows installed, homeowners will find that their windows will end up paying for themselves over time. Up to £200 a year is saved just purely through thermal energy efficiency via windows. So with this in mind, double-glazed windows, or even triple-glazed windows, are some of the best home improvements you can make when you want to improve your comfort and impact on energy bills.
